JF Capital Partners offers a range of enhancements for each of our investment strategies.  For example, all of our strategies can be managed on an after-tax basis or with a quality tilt.

We tailor other enhancements to suit the needs of individual clients.

After-tax Investing

JF Capital Partners investment platform is well suited to efficiently managing tax within client portfolios and all our strategies can be managed on an after-tax basis.

Not only can we increase after-tax investment returns, we can tailor client portfolios to their individual tax rates.  

After-tax investing can be a source of extra returns to clients.  Our analysis indicates this extra return can be material – anywhere from 0.5% to 1.5% depending on a client’s individual tax rate.  

After-tax investing is particularly important in lower return environments where efficient tax management can add a significant proportion of the returns to client portfolios.

Our investment process includes five techniques to deal with taxes, specifically we:

• Forecast a company’s franking credits and recognising their real value based on a client’s tax rate
• Recognise capital gains tax in portfolio returns in our optimisation process
• Minimise capital gains tax by selling stocks in the most advantageous tax lots
• Manage the holding period of individual stocks to avoid the ‘less than 12 month rule’
• Participate in off-market buy-backs when this provides an after-tax advantage to the client
  

Quality Tilt

All clients have different preferences.  For example, some clients prefer to have better quality stocks in their portfolios to lower the potential for unforseen risks and the reputational damage that can be associated with these risks.

We are able to overlay a quality tilt to all of our strategies.  This quality tilt is based on our strategic classification process.  This proprietary process has been developed over ten years of investing.
